    MCQs in biochemistry

Medical and Paramedical graduates aspiring for higher education planning to take PG ought to appear inentrance examinations. These entrance examinations are usually patterned in objective type. Biochemistry forms an integral part of curriculum of medical and paramedical courses. It is an important subject and deals with various Chemical, Biochemical, and Physiological reactions and processes that take place inside a living system. Quite a large number of MCQs appear in PG medical and paramedical competitive examinations in this subject. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) test a candidate`s ability to apply his knowledge gained during regular class work in the subject.

Framing a questions paper based on MCQs is time consuming and evaluation of answers is not subjective and biased but on based on merit. Several universities now-a-days are adopting MCQ pattern for their examination system. This system of evaluation can be computerized and human bias can be eliminated to a greater extent. The Medical Council of India in their latest recommendations on the medical education and examination have stipulated that part of the question paper should be objective type based. The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, the Tamil Nadu MGR Medical University, Tamil Nadu and the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Rajasthan also use the MCQ pattern in all their undergraduate and PG programmes of Medial and Paramedical courses.

The quick solution books presently available for this subject in the market do not cover the subject in an integrated way. Acquiring knowledge becomes simple if all the required information is made available at one place.
